A dental visit worth smiling about.
It's not uncommon to be a bit apprehensive about having dental work done. But for some patients, the anxiety can be so great that it interferes with the procedure—or even prevents them from scheduling a much-needed appointment. For these patients, Bobcat Dental is pleased to offer two levels of sedation dentistry.
This type of sedation requires a prescription sleep aide to be taken prior to the appointment. Nitrous oxide (laughing gas) is used to further relax the patient. While patients do remain conscious, their anxiety is dramatically reduced—and they may have little recollection of the event. Dr. Brunelli has been certified to perform this type of sedation for many years and recommends it as a very safe and effective option. Patients who choose this option must be driven to and from our offices.
Since intravenous (IV) sedation requires the expertise of a dental sedation specialist, the cost is higher than other methods. Yet for patients with severe anxiety, it can also be a wise investment. Patients will not remember the procedure, but will still be able to respond to simple commands that allow the dental staff to work more efficiently. These patients must be driven from the appointment afterward.
Just call! We'll be happy to answer any questions you might have about sedation dentistry at Bobcat Dental.
